Ovarian Cancer Awareness

On June 2, 2007, the sisters of Sigma Alpha Omega voted to adopt Ovarian Cancer Awareness as our national philanthropy after the initiative was researched by then Vice President of the National Board of Trustees, Erin Watts Evans.  The sorority has worked alongside organizations to promote education and awareness efforts such as Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative, Teal Diva, and many local to our chapters.

As the Beta Mu Chapter, we feel led to serve women in the Austin community. We believe we are called to serve one another in love, grace, and dignity. As a chapter, we take part in various service projects throughout the year, with our main focus on fighting for women. We believe their fight is our fight. Each September, we hold a crunch-a-thon for the women who can't. We also participate in the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Run. We stand alongside our sisters and fight for and with them!
